Is this course for beginners or experienced teachers?
Both. If you're new to reading instruction, this course gives you the complete framework from the ground up. If you've been teaching for years and feel like you should be reaching more of the neurodivergent students in your class, it's for you, too. This course organizes everything you know — fills the gaps, connects the pieces, and gives you critical tools you've been missing.
Do I need to have gone to college to take this course? Do I need any background knowledge?
A basic familiarity with terms like decoding, encoding, and phonemic awareness is helpful — but you don't need to be an expert. If you've worked in a classroom or with students in any capacity, you're ready.
I've already taken Wilson / Orton-Gillingham / Zippety Zappers. Is there anything new here?
Yes. Those are excellent programs — but they're also rigid, highly specific, and built around one methodology. When a student doesn't respond, you're stuck. This course synthesizes the strongest elements of all of them into a flexible, dynamic framework that isn't married to any single approach.
